NHM West Bengal Recruitment 2019: NHM National Health Mission (NHM) department of the Government of West Bengal is inviting eligible female candidates only for admission in two years Auxiliary Nursing & Midwifery (ANM) course, which has a total of 460 seats to offer. The posting of the selected candidates will be at the Urban Public Health Centers (UPHC) of the Urban Local Bodies (ULB), which comes under the National Urban Health Mission(NUHM).

The application is only acceptable via offline mode, which must be sent by the eligible female candidates by registered post or speed post or by personally submitting the form to the concerned “Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) Office in Kolkata. The hard copy of the application form must be submitted and must reach the CMOH Office in Kolkata on or before 26th June 2019. Any applications received after 26th June will not be accepted and will be rejected by the concerned Chief Medical Officer.
The selection of the female candidates will be purely on their merit basis, based on the marks which they have secured in the best five subjects (excluding Environmental Studies/Science) in their Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent examination. So, the question of examination date or syllabus does not even arise since there will be no selection examination of the ANM post. And, the NHM department has also made it clear that the candidates from the vocational stream are not eligible for this ANM post and hence their applications would be rejected if they are sent for the selection.
Now, let’s go through the eligibility criteria which the female candidate must meet in order to be selected for the two years ANM course.
NHM WB Recruitment 2019 Eligibility Criteria
All the female candidates are advised to carefully read the points mentioned under the eligibility criteria section of the official notification issued by the W.B. NHM department before applying for the post.
i.) Educational Qualification: The female candidates must be at least Higher Secondary or 12th standard passed from West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination passed from a recognized Council or Board.
ii.) Age Limit: All the female candidates aspiring to be selected for the ANM post should be between 25-35 years of age as on 01/01/2019. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH Category is allowed a 5 years age relaxation in the upper age limit and those candidates who belong to OBC-A/B Category is allowed a 3 years relaxation as well.
- Only female candidates are allowed to apply for the ANM Post.
- The candidate must be a permanent resident of the particular ULB for which she will be selected.
- A candidate has to be a married or divorced or widowed woman.
NHM Recruitment 2019 Documents Required Along With The Application Form
The application form must be accompanied with self-attested photocopies of the following documents, which if not found will lead to rejection of the application form of that particular candidate.
- Proof of Residence in Original issued by the competent authorities as per the State Government Rules in this regard.
- Age-Proof in the form of Admit Card or Madhyamik Pariksha Certificate.
- Higher Secondary or its equivalent examination Mark Sheet.
- Caste Certificate in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-A/B Categories.
- Physically Handicapped Certificate issued by the competent authority of W.B.
- One recent passport size self-attested photograph which is to be affixed on the top right hand corner of the application form.
It is that once the selected candidates successfully complete the two years ANM training course, the CMOH will deploy the ANM with a direction to join the respective ULB. So, the selected candidates need to work hard and give in their best during their two years training period.
