Indian Navy Sailor Jobs 2019: The Indian Navy has issued an official notification on its website for direct Indian navy recruitment 2019 as Sailors for Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR) and Artificer Apprentice (AA) categories. They are inviting applications for Indian Navy SSR recruitment 2019 & Indian Navy AA recruitment 2109 through online mode only from eligible unmarried male candidates who are eligible for the posts as per the conditions laid down by the Government of India in this regard.

The Indian navy sailor online application link has been posted on its official website joinindiannavy.gov.in, which has been activated on 28th June and will close on 10th July 2019. The general category applicants have to pay Rs. 205/- online as application fees for successful submission of their application form, which reserved category candidates are exempted to pay.
Now, let’s move further and check out other important fields and criteria which are required for selection.
The candidates who desire to get selected have to meet all the following criteria in order to get selected for the Sailors AA or SSR category post.
a.) Educational Qualification
For AA Category- A candidate must be 10+2 examination qualified from the Boards of School Education recognized by MHRD, Government of India with minimum 60% marks in aggregate and with Maths & Physics and any one of these Subjects: Chemistry or Biology or Computer Science.
For SSR Category- A candidate must be 10+2 examination qualified from the Boards of School Education recognized by MHRD, Government of India with Maths & Physics and any one of these Subjects: Chemistry or Biology or Computer Science.
b.) Age Limit: Candidates born between 1st February 2000 to 31st January 2003 (Both days inclusive) are eligible to apply for this post.

For both AA and SSR categories, the selection of the candidates would be made purely on the basis of their performance in computer based examination, which is subject to qualifying in the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Medical Examination.
As of now, the actual date of the computer based examination is not yet decided by the Indian Navy. But, the tentative date as per the official notification can be any day in the month of September 2019. So the applicants are advised to keep a regular check on the official website of Indian Navy to stay updated and informed about any recent activities in the regard.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
To qualify for the computer based examination, candidates must pass the Physical Fitness Test in the first shot where the applicants will be asked to-
- Run 1.6 km. in 7 minutes only,
- Do 20 squats up, and
- 10 push ups.
Note 1: Proficiency in any kind of sports activity, swimming or any other extra-curricular activities will be an added advantage.
The candidates should be of minimum 157 cms. in height with proportionate weight and chest and minimum chest expansion should be 5 cms.

As per the official notification, one common computer based examination will be conducted for both AA and SSR categories. The exam will be an objective based multiple choice with a total of 100 questions, each carrying 01 marks. The standard of the question paper will be that of the 10+2 standard examination, which has to be completed within one hour of time duration.
There will be a total of four sections in the question paper comprising four different subjects of 10+2 syllabus, which are-
- Mathematics, and
- General Knowledge
The candidates are required to pass individually in all the four sections and in aggregate as well. The candidates will be penalized for every wrong answer where 1/4th or 0.25 marks will be charged for every wrong answer marked.
